Death Compass is a useful mod for Minecraft 1.18.1/1.12.2 that will allow you to find your dropped items. Now, after death, you will have access to a special compass that will indicate the point of your death. If you hurry, you can have time to pick up your things, or just continue your journey from the point of last death.
The compass has no crafting, it will be available to you immediately after death, if you do not need it, just throw it away.
